Parties were all around us this past holiday season, one in particular stood out. Talapus Tillicum ecstatically celebrated the end of the year by inviting our brothers from the LTI chapter (Alpine). Lots of nice gifts were exchanged in our white elephant gift exchange, pizza and ice cream were also enjoyed. Incredibly, we also had time to show off our amazing Arrow of Light ceremony. Lastly, we had a most superb time at our December meeting, we call upon all Arrowmen to go to their chapter’s meeting.

On Saturday, December 13th, a handful of brave arrowmen journeyed up to the T’Kope Longhouse to accomplish one goal. Sort the Ceremonies closet.
Over a few gruelling hours (some even without power), members from the SMK and Sunyakwa Chapter took time to completely rearrange the Ceremonies closet, while repairing pieces of T’Kope’s beloved regalia.
The valiant effort reaped great rewards. The closet has be rearranged by the condition of the items inside, on whether they are usable. In addition, the participants fully repaired the Sunyakwa Set of Ceremonial Robes.
We couldn’t have done this without the dedication of these Ceremonialists and Arrowmen. But there is much more to be done on our robes and other equipment. We are planning another of these weekends in January (the date will be announced soon), and hope to see you there.

The National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is a weekend training program focusing on leadership development. Run by the Region Chief and his Advisers, it provides an in-depth look at leadership skills and techniques. NLS discusses how these skills can be applied in your role in the OA and in other aspects of your life. The National Leadership Seminar is a weekend conference on the skills and attributes of leadership. It is intended primarily to enhance the leadership skills of the Order of the Arrow’s key youth and adult members as they seek to improve their services to the Boy Scouts of America and the greater community.
So join us November 20-22nd at our very own Camp Pigott! This year we have the honor of hosting the event based on our tremendous showing two years ago, so I'd like to take this moment to invite every youth in our lodge to come and experience this once in a lifetime training while it's still in our own backyard.
Register here: http://western.oa-bsa.org/program/training/nls, cost will be subsidized for youth.

This last week, teams from all over the world competed to prove they had the best Pre-Ordeal ceremony during the 100 hour long National Order of the Arrow Conference (or NOAC). Once again T’Kope Kwiskwis has proved that our
ceremonialists are amongst the very best in the nation.
Our team took 3rd place nationwide for their presentation of the Pre-Ordeal ceremony. Four lodge officers; Trent A, Lodge Chief and Alowat Sakima, Jacob T, Inductions Vice-Chief and Meteu, Matthew R, Activities Vice-Chief and Nutiket and finally Mitchell N, Treasurer and Kichkinet have been working very hard for months preparing for the competition and each deserve a hearty congratulations for their dedication and extraordinary accomplishment!
Additionally, every member of our Pre-Ordeal team received national honors, with our Lodge Chief earning his second national honors for his presentation of the vigil ceremony. How Mighty is the Silver Marmot!

Mitchell N has taken over the position of Lodge Treasurer.
As a NYLT staffer and former Conclave Vice-Chief, we are very lucky to have his
leadership as our Order enters its second century.
