We encourage everyone to congratulate our latest brothers who sealed their membership in the Order by going through their Brotherhood Ceremony in April and May. These ceremonies were held at our two ordeals, Camporees and at the Section Conclave.
If it's been 10 months since your ordeal and you want to step up to the Brotherhood, there are several opportunities left this year. For more information contact your Troop/Team Rep, or your chapter leadership.
The last chance to get your brotherhood is on the Saturday of the Parsons Ordeal June 7th and the Friday of the Spring Fellowship, June 20th at Camp Pigott.
These are our laudable brothers:
You don’t usually hear from me, as a strong believer in a youth led program, I try to stay behind the curtain and just advise. But we have some important upcoming events and I want to extend you my personal invitation to join us.
First, we have the section Conclave, the annual gathering of the five lodges that make up our Section, W-1N. This is a great opportunity to meet new Brothers, greet old ones, learn new skills and have a lot of fun. You also get a reminder that there is an OA world outside T’Kope-we are part of something greater than ourselves. As a special incentive Chapter Adviser David Wilding has donated some King crab that will be part of a special meal prepared by Chef Chief Torin and myself for the Chapter that brings the most members. We had an Ordeal this weekend that brought us 54 new Brothers, why not ask one of them to join you. Conclave is just three weeks away, April 25-27. I hope you can join us, sign up now!
The second item is our great conservation project, ArrowCorps 2014. You will have an opportunity to provide service on a very public level in Mt. Rainier National Park. We recently discovered evidence that there was a great BSA service project in the park in 1925. This is a legacy project that continues in that tradition. Please also know that we have a fair number of camperships available, so cost should not be a barrier to attending. There are not many places on earth more spectacular or beautiful than Mt. Rainier in August. I hope you can join us for an experience of a life time. Please sign up today.

On the fence about registering for ArrowCorps2014? Don't be! A generous donor has stepped forward to provide 32 $125 camperships so that people like YOU can make it to the Mountain this summer. This means that you'll get to experience the brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service you've been looking forward to for half price! These camperships are available to all Scouts and Venturers who request them.
To apply, simply fill out the Chief Seattle Council Campership Application. This form can be mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Council, or given to project leaders at at any Lodge meeting or event. From now on, this campership form will also be attached to every ArrowCorps2014 confirmation email, making it easy to apply.
ArrowCorps2014 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and memorable events in years. Here's some highlights we can tell you about already:
- Seed collection and avalanche damage repair at Crystal Mountain
- Top-quality shows provided by our own Steve and Quinton Lum
- Meeting participants from as far away as Tennessee and Maine
- A possible visit by Congressmen Dave Reichert
The experiences we had at ArrowCorps502 and Conservation Leadership School are unforgettable. United in our desire to serve our community, nation, and planet, we had the most amazing time of our lives. Since 1925, Scouts and volunteers have been hard at work contributing to a rich legacy of conservation service and high adventure in the Mt. Rainier area. You have been an integral part of this history, and now we hope you’ll join us as we write the next chapter. Whether you're a youth, recently were a youth, or an adult, we have a place for you!
Dust off that hard hat and register today. Spread the word and tell your friends!
The April Ordeal is only eight days away, and we are still looking for four to five Elangomats to take part of the inductions process! Do you remember your ordeal? Do you remember the young man in a white sash leading you through the day? How would you like to be that person that will stick in the minds of the candidates for many years? Trust me friends, it is an amazing experience that you should experience. If you would like to sign up all you have to do is go to the "Online Registration" tab on the top right side of this page and click Ordeal Registration. Then you will need to select "Elangomat" from the staff list.
At this point you will find a nice surprise; you will see that your registration cost has dropped to, not $10.00, not $5.00, but FREE!
Make sure to register this week so that we can give our chef an accurate number of people to purchase food for!
Yours in Service,
