In February of this year our brother, Taylon Yuasa met with the Lodge Leadership seeking permission to create several Lodge Flaps as a fundraiser to help fight Breast Cancer. At this time he also received permission from the Chief Seattle Council to create a shoulder patch to be used as a fund raiser for the same goal.
A person very close to Taylon had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and survived. He wanted to carry out this project to honor this person.
Taylon designed and ordered the patches, then sold them at various OA and Scouting events, with all proceeds to go toward the Susan G. Koman foundation for the cure of this terrible disease.
On October 16th Taylon attended the Chief Seattle Council Executive Board meeting where he presented a check in the amount of $3500 to representatives of the Susan G. Koman foundation towards cancer research.
We congratulate Taylon on this outstanding project and are certainly proud to have this young man as a representative of T'kope.
